Not only is this Halloween decoration easy, it’s very inexpensive! Use paint that you have at home, and grab some accessories (like the stick on jewels we used) from the dollar store and your set. A real pumpkin from a pumpkin patch, or grocery store and that’s all! Paint varying sizes of pumpkin and arrange them together to create a full fall porch decor idea. The little pie pumpkins look super cute alone or with a larger one. Let’s get into what you’ll need for this fun craft!

Materials:

• Real pumpkin
• Acrylic Paint
• Painters tape
• Jewel stickers
• Paint brushes

Firstly, apply the painters tape in vertical lines. Follow the natural grooves in your pumpkin.

Secondly, paint your pumpkin. Let the pumpkin dry between coats. You may need multiple coats, depending on the colour you choose (light colours will need more). Set aside to dry completely.

Once the pumpkin paint is dry, carefully remove the tape. Then add the stick on jewels where the tape was.

Trendy Colour Block Fall Pitcher

What You’ll Need:

• Plain pitcher
• Navy and gold multi-surface paint
• Paint brush
• Sealer
• Masking tape

Tape off a large triangle on the bottom half of the pitcher. Be sure to press the edges of the tape down during this craft to make a tight seal.

Fill in the triangle with the navy paint. This will most likely need more than one coat, make sure to let the paint dry completely between layers.

Once the paint is dry, remove the tape from around the blue triangle. Add some more tape to form a reverse triangle pointing down from the top of the pitcher. This triangle will be a line, as opposed to being filled in, so add a second line of tape to create a channel.

Fill in the line with gold paint, making sure the paint dries completely between coats.

Finally, finish with a food safe sealer and serve those drinks in style.

What You’ll Need:

• • Wreath base (preferably cardboard or wood over wire. It’ll be easier to attach the leaves to)
  • Glitter paper (scrapbook paper is perfect)
  • Template – get it here
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun and sticks
  • Ribbon

Print out template and use it to trace the pattern onto the back of the glitter paper. You’ll need to trace about 30 leaves in a variety of colours and then cut out all the leaves.

Attach a length of ribbon for hanging to the wreath base. Glue the leaves onto the wreath base, alternating the colours. Be sure to overlap the leaves on top of the ribbon to cover it.

Wreaths

Wreaths are a great way to make the outside of your home look festive.  Some of you know my obsession for door decor (see my Spring Door Hanger here).  An easy DIY project is to make your own fall wreath by adding festive items to a wreath base found at your local craft or even dollar store.  Some materials to consider are burlap, dried flowers, pumpkins and more.

Centerpieces 

Anything can go into a fall centerpiece.  Consider using traditional fall colours such as deep reds, oranges, yellows and brown or take it up a notch and create a modern fall piece with teal pumpkins with white branches.  I’ve seen it done and it can look fantastic!  And remember, don’t limit yourself to just tables; fall arrangements can be placed in any room of the house, the mantle is a perfect example.

Planters

Next to door decor, planters are the outdoor decor I love to see the most.  I feel they make a big statement, regardless of how big they are.  They can be made out of real or artificial decorations.  If goes without saying that if you choose artificial decorations, you can use it year after year.  Outdoor planters can be made in pairs or used alone.  The great thing about planters are you can make them as simple as placing a pumpkin in a base or go all out and add gourds, flowers and more!

Wall Art and More

An easy and simple way to bring fall into your home is to hang some festive art with some fall coloured blankets and pillows for your couch.  Art is easy to store during the off-season and it will make an effortless and impactful difference in your home.  As can bringing out an extra warm blanket with some couch pillows.

Pumpkins

Let’s not forget about the most obvious and traditional fall decoration. Pumpkins work just about anywhere. They can be used in the garden, along your walkway, or at your front door. You can stack them, paint them, or add embellishments to them (did someone say sparkle?) They can be paired with all other fall decorations as well. Even a single pumpkin screams fall.
